Referential Data Services Engineer


Our client, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a highly-skilled Referential Data Services Engineer to join our Core Engineering and Systems team in New York. This developer will take a principal role in handling our client’s securities infrastructure.


As a Referential Data Services Engineer, your responsibilities will include:


  •  Developing our client’s securities infrastructure, creating scripts, and managing availability
  •  Interacting with trading teams and users to handle issues
  •  Adding support for new execution venues
  •  Tracking down and correcting data problems in securities
  •  Validating data changes in the security master and updating the security master accordingly through the UI
  •  Modifying the security master support UI to gradually remove the need for manual interaction with the database
  •  Fixing bugs in the security master code base


Our ideal candidate will have:


  •  3 to 5 years of experience in Java and SQL
  •  Experience in Python, Angular JS, javascript, version control (git) and html (a plus)
  •  Prior work experience in Finance and an understanding of financial instruments (equities, debt instruments, futures, and options)
  •  A degree in computer science or a related field
  •  Good written and oral communication skills
  •  A strong interest in working in a data heavy environment
