Job Description:


Our client, a tech-driven quantitative asset management firm, utilizes a proprietary research platform and risk management process to develop and deploy systematic financial strategies across a variety of asset classes in global markets. To date, our client has 600 employees managing over $5 billion in assets. In addition, their “AlphaFactory” is considered the heart of their firm. With 4 million alphas to date, they have plans to grow to 100 million. You could be an integral part to this growth. 

Job Responsibilities (include, but not limited to the following): 

 

  • Design and implement software to facilitate data integration with trading and simulating systems 
  • Adopt new technologies to improve existing frameworks of data flow and monitoring 
  • Work with Trading/Research departments in designing and implementing new data sets on premises and in the cloud. 
  • Implement and maintain software that interface with external vendors to bring in new data sets 
  • Implement the rules and procedures that ensure integrity in data sets 
  • Provide second level support to production support team regarding market data issues 
  • Collect and analyze statistics on market data applications and devise approaches to improve the relevant processes 
  • Design and implement systems that track and manage data availability, access and usage 

 

Job Qualifications: 

 

  • Be interested in applying technology to real situations, comfortable working in a fast paced environment, detail oriented and capable of performing tasks under pressure 
  • Possess effective problem-solving skills whether independently or as member of a team 
  • Have good communication skills: must be fluent in English, spoken and written
  • Possess strong trouble shooting abilities 
  • Possess a background in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Physics. Proof of good academic record (such as GPA or other relevant test scores) 
  • Have experience working under Linux environment, familiar with Vim or Emacs for editing files under the command line 
  • Have experience with C++ or other object oriented languages 
  • Have experience with scripting languages, such as Perl, Python, and shell scripting 
  • Interface with database (such as MySQL)
