Our client is a private institutional investment management complex consisting of an international team of elite researchers, traders and technologists who constantly work toward even greater quantification and automation in the development of its trading processes. Continuously evolving for ever-greater efficiency enables us to trade today the way others will tomorrow.  

The Role: The Trading Applications group is an established front office team, which handles the pre and post trading needs of the firm. Successful candidates will be responsible for developing, extending, monitoring, configuring, and troubleshooting a complex and distributed trading platform. 

 Job Responsibilities (include, but not limited to the following):

  • Help design and develop real-time, low latency software components 
  • Develop and extend software tools which automate, analyze, and monitor business processes 
  • Provide support for the real-time trading system. Manage and improve operational infrastructure 
  • Troubleshoot critical production issues, identifying and patching bugs and inefficiencies 
  • Handle configuration, testing, installation, monitoring of trading applications and back end processes of a complex trading platform 
  • Handle numerous requests sent by users, follow-up with users, and work with other groups on resolving issues 
  • Analyze and optimize latencies 
  • Participate in all facets of a project’s life cycle from design, implementation, testing, documentation and deployment, with a focus on deployment and production support 
  • Coordinate with other technology groups around releases and upgrade
  • Interact with developers, quants, traders, and remote support staff 

Job Qualifications:

  • Degree in a quantitative or technical discipline from a top university
  • Demonstrated experience using C++; scripting languages
  • Experience maintaining and supporting trading systems is preferred but not required
  • Strong software debugging abilities; Experience in querying large databases using SQL
  • Ability to identify the source of problems and come up with creative solutions
  • Mature and thoughtful, with the ability to operate within a collaborative, team-oriented culture
