Job Description:

Our client is a quantitative asset management firm founded in 2007 and currently has over 600 employees spread across more than 20 offices in 15 countries. We develop and deploy systematic financial strategies across a variety of asset classes in global markets, utilizing a proprietary research platform and risk management process.

The Trading Applications group is an established front office team, which handles the pre and post trading needs of the firm, with an 8+ year track record.

Role: We are seeking individuals with a strong technical background who thrive on being in the middle of the action for this role.

Successful candidates will be responsible for developing, extending, monitoring, configuring, and troubleshooting a complex and distributed trading platform.

Job Responsibilities (include, but not limited to the following):

  • Develop and extend software tools which automate, analyze, and monitor business processes
  • Provide support for the real-time trading system. Manage and improve operational infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot critical production issues, identifying and patching bugs and inneficiencies.
  • Handle configuration, testing, installation, monitoring of trading applications and back end processes of a complex trading platform
  • Handle numerous requests sent by users, communicate follow-up with users, and work with other groups on resolving issues
  • Analyze and optimize latencies
  • Participate in all facets of a project’s life cycle from design, implementation, testing, documentation and deployment, with a focus on deployment and production support
  • Help design and develop real time low latency software components that will be deployed globally
  • Coordinate with other technology groups around releases and upgrades
  • Interact with developers, quants, traders, and remote support staff

Job Qualifications:

• Have a degree from accredited college in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or other Quantitative field
• Experience with scripting in Python or Perl, Unix shell commands, and C++
• Experience maintaining and supporting trading systems is preferred but not required
• Strong software debugging abilities
• Experience in querying large databases using SQL
• Careful attention to detail and the drive to identify the source of problems and pursue them to resolution.
• Must be able to solve problems in a high pressure environment, multitask, prioritize tasks, and learn on the go
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Results oriented, organized, and highly flexible
• Prior financial markets knowledge is preferred but not required
