Our client is one of the nation's largest law firms, providing a wide variety of legal services to clients throughout the United States and around the world from offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Boston, Boca Raton, Newark, New Orleans, Paris, London, Sao Paolo, Hong Kong and Beijing.

 

They are seeking a Payroll Systems Analyst, based in their New York office, who will primarily be responsible for maintaining the Global Payroll and Time Management Systems and ensuring data integrity between these systems and interfacing systems. Reporting to, and under the direction of, the Payroll Manager, the Finance Systems Analyst will play a vital role in establishment of streamlined and efficient full-service Global Payroll and Time Management Systems that adhere to the Firm’s Global Payroll Policy.

 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

 

· Support the implementation of an upgrade from the current ADP platform to a cloud-based solution, a new Time & Attendance solution and a global payroll platform that integrates efficiently with other Finance and HR Systems.

· Perform analysis of business processes and management information needs, to determine new and more effective system solutions.

· Document current and to-be process flows, suggest improvements to these process flows, and develop a communication plan for downstream impacts to affected stakeholders.

· Be a part of various project teams in the development of project deliverables, which adhere to the Firm’s Project Management Office’s technology policies, standards, and processes.

· Conduct requirement sessions with business users and subject matter experts, provide guidance in formulating new requirements and suggest new, creative and alternative approaches to solving business problem.

· Assist in developing test cases, and participates in the quality assurance process to ensure that requirements are properly implemented.

· Ensure that projects are delivered on a timely basis. Anticipate issues and proactively resolve these, escalate any issues that require management input when needed.

· Work and/or leads efforts with other business and technical groups to ensure business requirements are met, including problem resolution and systems testing.

· Assist in producing user training documentation and work with IT to train users.

· Actively look for and assess new and emerging technologies to drive business and architecture strategy.

· Provide support for all change management and process improvement within the Finance function.

· Produces ad-hoc reports for management use.

 

Requirements:

 

· A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance.

· 3+ years of experience in Finance Systems or Accounting, preferably within a professional services environment.

· Knowledge of HR, Benefits, and/or Finance.

· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

· Strong understanding of fundamental accounting transactions flows including systems interfaces

· Ability to quickly adapt to new, different, or changing requirements while conveying a sense of urgency and drive issues to closure.

· Demonstrates ability to contribute strategically by identifying and implementing business process improvements.

· Advanced Excel skills, such as pivot tables and other functions, and report writing experience

· Strong diplomacy skills and the ability to resolve conflict in a professional manner.

· Strong planning, project management and organizational skills with an attention to detail

· Strong presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical designs in simple terms to non-technical end users or management.

· Experience in ADP, Elite 3E, Aderant Expert, and/or Oracle Fusion is a plus.

· Understanding, and delivery, of an effective control environment.
