It has been featured in the WSJ, Techcrunch, Wired, CNN, and The Today Show, and Forrester Research said that it will "change the way people work."

Robot Software Developer

Behaviors and Human – Robot Interaction

We are seeking a software developer specialized in human-robot interaction in personal and social robots. By designing compelling interactions and behavior, you will help the first personal cargo robot to interact with people and everyday situations in an elegant and charming fashion.

 

About You

As a software developer, you are willing to work hard in order to make our robot effectively tackle the challenges of indoor and outdoor urban mobility. Whether you work on the front or back end of applications and robotic algorithms, you are eager to get see the results of your work translate into effective interactions between the robot and the real world.

 

Requirements

 

  • MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject
  • 3+ years of experience with ROS
  • Experience with reliable and persistent autonomous systems
  • Proficiency in Python and C++
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with human-robot interaction preferred
  • Experience with social robots
  • Experience with sound or verbal interfaces 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Write software that defines how robot behaves. This includes: how it positions itself around the user, using non-verbal communication to convey its intentions and needs, and working with other robot as a team
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to define, design, test and create autonomous robots
  • Document and test your code
  • Contribute to defining the software architecture of the robot
  • Continually research, discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies and approaches
  • Implement high-level robotic behaviors
  • Design social robotic interactions
  • Help define the character of the robot
