The Role: Technologists research, design, code, test and deploy projects while working collaboratively with researchers and portfolio managers. Our environment is relaxed yet intellectually intense. Our client is seeking an exceptionally talented individual to join our Middle Office Development team. Successful candidates will participate in all facets of a project’s life cycle from design, implementation, testing, documentation and deployment. Candidates will design, code, and debug operations, reporting, pre & post trade analysis applications on Linux platforms. You will interface with users to gather, analyze and spec out requirements, develop/test code, and manage product deliverables to targeted release dates. You will be expected to interface with operations support team for deployment and training as well as provide support for new and legacy applications. As a senior member of the team, junior members would look to you for mentorship and guidance.

 What You’ll Bring:  

 

  • Degree in a quantitative or technical discipline; 5+ years of experience
  • Possess an advanced knowledge and experience with streaming application development (Kafka, Spark, Redis a plus but not mandatory)
  • Strong understanding and experience with Object Oriented Programming
  • Experience in querying large data sets using SQL 
  • Demonstrated ability to design and develop scalable software
  • Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures
  • Ability to understand complex systems; be in command of the details to provide solutions
  • Self-motivated and take initiative with minimal direction
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Finance, trading systems and PnL experience a plus 
  • Experience with streaming UI development a plus
