Job Description:

Who we are

Our client is a new kind of healthcare company, operating out of Brooklyn and backed by some of the top healthcare investors in the country.  Our mission is to radically improve the health of urban communities, one block at a time.

In close collaboration with community based organizations and a leading commercial partner, we are reorganizing the health system to focus on what matters to our members.  We deliver personalized primary care, behavioral health, and social services through a network of neighborhood hubs with deep community based partnerships and world-class technology.

Over the next year we'll grow quickly, including entering new markets, each with their own commercial relationships and field-based teams. This role will be a key contributor to the success of our business.

The role:

As our Senior Product Designer, you will lead the design side of our product development efforts. You'll work strategically and cross-functionally with our Engineering, Clinical, and Product Team in continuing to build our clinical and member-facing digital product. In this role you will help execute each phase of the design process from research through synthesis & ideation, to UX & visual design and prototyping. The ideal candidate will have exceptional design talent and a strong alignment with our mission to serve others in need. You will be instrumental in helping build out the design team as we continue to grow.

You will:

  • Own the product design evolution of our flagship care facilitation platform-across desktop, tablet and mobile platforms
  • Lead the design and development of entirely new digital tools to support new strategic areas of focus
  • Partner with our engineering, product, and clinical team to find elegant but practical solutions to design challenges
  • Provide thought leadership to help develop the right product strategy and design system(s) to support
  • Solve problems and come up with solutions that address our users needs
  • Work closely with product leads, engineers, QA, and other designers as we build and ship ideas
  • Analyze user behavior and recommend suggestions to the product experience
  • Facilitate user research and testing, ensuring usability and product consistency
  • Demonstrate a sharp eye for detail, exceptional foundational design skills, and highly developed organizational skills
  • Work from our office in Dumbo

You'd be a good fit if:

  • You have roughly 5+ years of product design experience demonstrated through a portfolio of multiple case studies
  • You are proficient in Sketch, Invision, Adobe Creative Suite, and can pick up new tools with ease
  • Experience collaborating with Product Managers and Engineers on product briefs, scoping projects and roadmapping
  • Validate product and design decisions using both qualitative and quantitative user research methods
  • You think strategically, integrating overarching business priorities into your design approach
  • You work effectively and collaboratively, with a sharp sense of our user's experience motivating your design decisions
  • You're entrepreneurial and team-oriented, with flexibility to dive into ambitious projects and small tasks from one moment to the next
  • You flourish in fast-paced environments, identifying your own opportunities for success and iterating tightly on feedback
  • You're an exceptional communicator with ability to build rapport with leaders across different teams

Nice to have:

  • Some basic coding ability (html, CSS, javascript)
  • Experience with running a thorough QA process
  • Being technically fluent

You should include these in your application:

  • A resume and/or LinkedIn profile.
  • An online portfolio, or PDF that you can share with us. A link to your online portfolio, or a PDF, is required. Applications without a portfolio are unlikely to be considered
  • A 1-2 paragraph response indicating why this job is compelling to you.
  • A 1 paragraph summary of a time when you thought you made a difference in someone's health.

All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply by submitting their resume as an MS word document including a cover letter with a summary of relevant qualifications, highlighting clearly any special or relevant experience.

Please Note: All inquiries will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. Your resume will not be submitted to any client company without your prior knowledge and consent.
